STEPHEN LOSHORUA MASIKONDE

Steve joined Pioneer International University, Nairobi in September 2021 where he is undertaking a Bachelor of Education (Arts) with support from David Mahungu’s family. He is a 3rd year student. Steve, who is an ardent football player (fullback defender), is passionate about sports and voluntary community service.

Stephen was born in Segera Ward, Laikipia North Sub-County, Laikipia County as the first born to a single parent in a family of three. He lost his mother early in life and now lives with an aunt and grandmother plus an extended family of twelve members. In his early years, he helped care for his siblings, and other chores such as fetching water, collecting firewood and shopping.

Steve says, “The program assisted me to join University to focus on achieving my dream of becoming a teacher who can influence and inspire students to achieve their best, academically and in co-curriculum activities especially football.”

Steve is expected to complete his studies in April of 2025 and graduate later in the same year.

In the next 10 years, Steve’s target is to develop his skills and knowledge to take more responsibilities including being a father, server and influence his community in a positive way.
