ANTONY MWENDA

Antony is a first year student at The Technical University of Kenya where he is undertaking a Bachelor of Technology (Civil Engineering). He joined the program and university in September, 2024 and will complete his studies in April of 2029.

Antony was born in Thingithu ward, Laikipia East Sub-County as the first born in a family of four children. Growing, up he assisted his parents in carrying out house chores like clarning the copound and fetching firewood as well as assisting his siblings with homework.

Antony says’ “The impact of DMLF’s support extends beyond financial assistance. It includes leadership training, mentorship and coaching which has provided me with access to invaluable resources and networking opportunities. Through the program and its initiatives, I have been fortunate to connect with mentors and fellow students who share my aspirations. This sense of community has enriched my learning experience and fostered personal growth. The encouragement I have received has inspired me to strive for excellence and to contribute positively to my field of study”.

In ten years time, Antony sees himselfy as a valuable member of his community, a professional engineer giving back and contributing to the development of his country and community.
